Explain This One to Me

How can Republican congressmen issue press releases taking credit for provisions in the stimulus bill (the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act) when they all voted against it?

How does that work, exactly? "Brother, this was a really good idea, even if I voted against it, because I am a member of the Party of Crazy People".... is that how it works for them?

They assume they don't have to explain anything, much less make a lick of sense.

It became increasingly apparent in the closing months of the election that the decision wasn't "Republican/Democrat", it was "Crazy/Sane". Not the fun kind of crazy that's good to party with, either - the kind of crazy that will insist that black is white, rain is dry and not taxing rich people makes the country richer because doctrine says it's so. Counterfactual, delusional thinking vs. fact-based thinking.
