Marksmanship Returns in Afghanistan

One shot, long range. Only not in our favor.

"Spray and pray" may have its uses for up-close and personal. But where sight lines can exceed a couple hundred meters, I suspect that there is a certain amount of psychological effectiveness to hearing one shot and seeing one of your mates keel over.

There is a reason why sharpshooters have been feared on the battlefield for over 200 years.

I wish I had my .303 Enfield back.

I love shooting very long distances with open sights and it's easy to do here. If there are two of you binocs can verify better.

You may stand a pretty good chance on the first shot but you sure as hell better not take that same chance on the second even if your over a mile away. Fun stuff.
