I was at a friend's house over the weekend. She is a fairly typical computer user, not at all interested in software or computers, she just wants it to work. She wanted to search for something, so I asked her to try using Bing instead of Google.
She did. After a few searches, she opined: "This isn't any better than Google." She clicked on her bookmark for Google and went back to using it.
(No snark needed.)

One of my co-workers at the office asked me, "Have you tried Bing?" I said, "A dead crooner?" He (a 20-something) said "What?" I said "Bing Crosby. He was a pop singer of the 1940's and 1950's." He looked at me as if I were an alien from another planet as I explained the cultural stupidity of naming a search engine "Bing" when there were still plenty of people around who remembered the *real* "Bing". Besides, I noted at the end, "It's just MSN Search with a new name. Duh." Which it is. Duh.
Yeah, I still use Google.

Bing Google? Google Bing? If you Ask nicely, it works better than either of them.
MickeySpooge has been putting big top-ads on news web sites to promote "Bing".
Fuckers. Though I'm sure the sites can use the revenue.
