Probably because the banksters who have been ripping off the states by collusion and bid-rigging are (a) white; (b) rich; and (c) Republicans.
Of course, if they were Black and working for ACORN, oh, how the outrage would flow!

That they are the elites and they can steal with impunity from their lessers. Those fuckers at Goldman and the other banks have no shame.
It is true now as it has ever been: If you can use a pen (or a computer) to steal, you will probably get away with it. Use a threat of a gun to steal $100 from a bank, though, and you will go away for 15 years.

Things ain't changed since. Only difference is that for a little while, We The People regulated the banksters and kept them from doin' most of the robbing they use to do.
