There were thirteen Republican senators who put the good of the country ahead of the partisan objectives of their party leadership.
All honor to them:
Alexander (R-TN), Bennett (R-UT), Brown (R-MA), Cochran (R-MS), Collins (R-ME), Corker (R-TN), Gregg (R-NH), Isakson (R-GA), Johanns (R-NE), Lugar (R-IN), Murkowski (R-AK), Snowe (R-ME) and Voinovich (R-OH).
I note, though, that only one Republican senator from a state that was formerly a member of the Confederacy voted to ratify the treaty. I doubt that they objected because of concerns about the treaty; they objected because ratifying the treaty would be construed as a win for the President.
Sedition runs ever deep in their veins.

Umm ... perhaps you forget that Tennessee was also on the wrong side of the "late unpleasantness".
Having said that, as a native Tennessean it was a pleasant surprise to see Alexander and Corker do the right thing for once.
