The last time I went onboard the USS Nimitz, which is on display in your backyard in Alameda , they had one of the quarantine airstreams and an Apollo capsule.

Nimitz, of course, was the ship that scooped up the capsule when the crew returned from the moon.

dinthebeast said...: Yeah, the carrier parked at Alameda is indeed the Hornet, and I do hope to visit it's museum some time.
The Nimitz is still in service (until around 2025) and its current home port is Everett, WA.
The Hornet museum is only a couple of miles from the Nimitz Freeway, however.
