A 3-Engine Airplane with 4-Blade Props

As I noted over a year ago, the EAL DC-7 is still grounded in Charlotte. The Carolinas Aviation Museum lists it as a temporary exhibit.

The Historic Flight Foundation, which restored and owns/owned the airplane, no longer acknowledges it as part of their collection.


The airplane has been deregistered.


Sad.

At $140k for a rebuild, and upward of $1M for a new engine, I think it's probably done for.

Next time you fly thru KCLT take the second connection, visit the museum ans see the restored Eastern Douglas. The miracle on the Hudson is also on display.
