Insecure and Probably Unhinged, as Well

President* Trump seems to be completely focused on winning a popularity contest in his own mind. Nobody had bigger crowds, nobody gave better speeches, everybody loves him, or so he has convinced himself. He seems to be in a crazy-level of denial when confronted with a dissenting opinion (one based on facts).

All of Trump's lies in the interview, cataloged.

In the discussion of Trump's border wall, a lot of people have forgotten that when President Obama proposed anything, the GOP was adamant that the spending be paid for by cuts elsewhere. Lead in Flint's water supply (caused by Republicans in Michigan)? Zika? All had to be paid for, or so conservatives demanded. But they have shown no such qualms about spending billions on the Great Wall of Trump. No offsets there. And certainly no tax increases on the uber-rich, horrors, they might move to New Zealand!

One might wonder who benefits from Trump's decapitation of the senior leadership in the State Department. Those people were apparently mostly career State Department employees, not politicians. So who benefits from taking out the lop level managers of the American diplomatic service?

My guess:

UPDATE: The guy who is behind Trump's fraudulent claim about voter fraud is a tax cheat, a liar and has been investigated for ethical lapses. He sounds legit

Notice also James Comey was retained for services rendered. I remember when there was almost no treason in the GOP (well, Ollie North, Valarie Plame, Iran/contra...). Let's say I remember when the GOP exhibited less treason toward Trump's main supporter Russia.

More and more I'm beginning to wonder whether Trump's problem is more than impulse control and a total lack of empathy for his fellow humans. I'm beginning to think he's unhinged and become more so. Maybe he's bi-polar and the manic part of his bi keeps racing its engine. Maybe it's a dybbuk in his head, moving his mouth and making him saying tweet crazy things. Maybe he's hearing voices.

The President needs, desperately needs, a psychiatrist.

Yours crankily,

I'm curious as to your thoughts on the arrest of Sergei Mikhailov for treason in Russia.

I'm also curious as to whether any incidents of terrorism that may result from the (they're calling it a) purge of the people in charge of securing our diplomatic outposts will be as relentlessly investigated as a recent one that comes to mind...

Doug, it seems that possibly the Kremlin is cracking down on those who make it harder for their hackers.
